As I set out to do my weekly exercise (walking) a deep thought came to me.  I live on an island surrounded by so much natural beauty, but I often take it for granted.  The birds chirping, blue skies, the flowers, the natural green luscious and mountainous landscape, and of course the crystal clear blue waters.

Just like the beauty in the islands, I’ve found that lately I’ve even taken for granted some of the people that are near and dear to me.  I believe that the more often we see the things around us and those that we love, the more they become invisible to us.

Let’s face it, staying present, takes effort.  We have to make a daily conscious decision to turn off auto pilot.
